Before I start talking about the place where I'm going to spend a big part of my life, let me introduce this section a little bit...
It's a place for very specialized formal texts and articles related to law, justice and everything around and the main focus of this blog at the same time. Of course, my disadvantage is I can just poorly handle formal writing, especially in this branch of science. However, I promise I'll do my best and make use of the English law grammar stuff that I'm going to study at college. It's actually a fine chance for people whose curiosity wants to see a guy with no further education in English formal writing get better at this issue from month to month. I expect at least some improvement in two years, so there's still plenty of time. There's no point in making a fool of myself, so I'm going to start with relatively easy stuff that doesn't require professional knowledge. I hope you're gonna have fun, though!

Allright, let's get back to the original topic. The Faculty of Law in Brno hasn't surprisingly always been my goal, I used to prefer economics and studying monetary systems. However, no one, including me, knows why I switched the future economical studies for law. The reason could be I got into a sort of relationship with law because my mom is an attorney. It would be pathetic to see the only reason in that. The "relationship" evolved over time, from just watching and observing my mom's job to active reading and discussing about justice problems. And that's the point when I decided to go to law school.
The decision was the easier part of my intention but making the dream come true was the real battle I had to get ready for! First of all, I filled out the application forms and sent it to all law colleges in the Czech Republic and waited for their responses with invitation forms. First came the invitation cards from Brno and Prague, the two most prestigeous law colleges. I was asked to come over and work out the admitting tests.
I did so, and then waited nervously for the results. They were good, I was accepted to both schools, so I decided to deny the invitations of the two other law colleges that are supposed not to be so good. And then came the worst thing - the decision whether to follow the path of my mom and attend the modern, well-equipped and quickly developing college in Brno or the other school in Prague, which is, on contrary, very conservative and has built great reputation in the world over centuries.
I asked a few people who are engaged in law to inspire me for the final decision and after re-thinking the dilemma again (which took incredibly long), I picked Brno! I still don't regret it (hopefully, I never will). The first semester starts on September 24th, I have approximately a month to obtain all neccessary things... I'm proud to say I've coped with the most important one already - I found an apartment:)!

What I'm looking for the most is learning law in English and Latin, international business law might also be a good deal for me:). Ops, and did I mention at all that I'm going to learn Hebrew:D? But the most secret wish is to uncover the myths about English and American common law and eventually dig in it a little:).
Okay, so that's was just a brief introduction of my future occupation, next time, expect me to show what my overall expectations are and what might affect me either good and bad. Have a good day!
Ondra
